February 13, 2010 Valentine's Day Cabaret
The Cincinnati Men’s Chorus presents "Reel Love," a cabaret featuring love songs that won or were nominated for an Academy Award, on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Below Zero Lounge, 1122 Walnut St. in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.
"The cabaret will mix the sultry with the sassy for an evening that is not to be missed," said Bruce Preston, who will again be the event’s emcee and ringmaster.
Chorus member Eric DeForest is producing the cabaret, featuring the men of CMC and some surprise special guests. The event also will showcase Steve Milloy on keyboards. Milloy, a former CMC assistant director, has worked on countless musicals locally and in other cities, as well as being a noted choral arranger and vocal coach.
"Whether you are celebrating true romance or just looking for a good time, this is the gayest Valentine's Day party in the Queen City," said Preston, one of the hosts of Alternating Currents, the weekly GLBT news/talk show on WVQC-FM (95.7).
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8:30 p.m. Desserts will be provided; a cash bar also will be available.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online or by calling the CMC hotline at (513) 542-2626. Tickets also will be available at the door.
Parking is available across the street from the lounge at Below Zero's lot.
The cabaret is an annual fundraising event. |
